One-day Seminar on Healthcare Horizons: Empowering Hospital Management Students through Grooming and Career Exploration

The Department of Business Administration organized a seminar on Healthcare Horizons: Empowering Hospital Management students through Grooming and Career Exploration. The seminar, held at the B.C. Roy Auditorium on May 3, 2024, was attended by approximately 50 students and faculty members from the Business Administration Department.

Distinguished guests Mr. Sagnik Saha (Business Lead – Non-Oncology Service), Mr. Somnath Saha (Senior Executive – Learning & Development – Human Resources), and Ms. Usha Rozario (Manager-HR) from NH Howrah were present to share their insights on the topic.

The seminar aimed to provide students with valuable insights on grooming themselves for the industry. It commenced with the inaugural Saraswati Vandana, performed by Kusankur Chakraborty, a student of BBA(HM) 2nd semester, followed by a welcoming address by the students. The esteemed guests were then honoured with handcrafted gifts by the students and saplings presented by Dr. Sandip Ghosh (Director, IQAC and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering).

The main session commenced thereafter, with Mr. Sagnik Saha, Ms. Usha Rozario, and Mr. Somnath Saha engaging the audience in an interactive and enlightening session. They also delivered a short presentation on the work culture and employee involvement at Narayana Health.

The session concluded with the guests being presented mementoes as tokens of appreciation by Dr. Anindya Guha and Mr. Subhajit Basu Chowdhury. Mr. Uttiya Kar, Head of the Department of Business Administration, delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of the seminar.

Overall, the seminar provided valuable insights and guidance to students, enhancing their understanding of the industry and career prospects in hospital management.
